Accurate soccer prediction for Denmark vs Switzerland
Denmark face Switzerland in the Group D Group 7 qualifier for EC Qualification. The match will be played on Saturday, October 12 from 5pm UK at Telia Parken.
Denmark are in second place in the provisional standings with 9 points in their assets after playing 5 matches. The team has not lost any losses so far, having started qualifying with a 3:3 draw as a guest of their upcoming opponent as the hosts led 3:0 at St. Jakob-Park in the 76th minute but then with goals from Mathias Jattah-Njie, Christian Gytkjær and Henrik Dalsgaard they shocked all the home fans in Basel as the three hits came within 9 minutes and the last came in the 93rd.
Denmark then played their first game at home as it again drew 1-1 against Republic of Ireland. Two consecutive wins for Åge Fridtjof’s team of 5-1 followed by Georgia and 0-6 against Gibraltar followed, with their biggest disappointment since qualifying in the last round when they finished 0-0 away to Georgia and lost two points in the fight for the first two places in the group.
Switzerland ranked third in the group with 8 points but also a match less than all their opponents. They opened the qualification with a win against Georgia 0-2 as a guest, and then we talked about their match against Denmark in which they made a huge failure after missing a lead of 3 clean goals within the final 15 minutes of the match.
In the summer, the team led by Vladimir Petković participated in the final phase of the UEFA Nations League but lost both their matches – 3-1 from Portugal and after a penalty shootout 5-6 from England in the third place dispute. In September they finished 1-1 in their visit to the Republic of Ireland and a few days later defeated Gibraltar 4-0 at home.
This match can be decisive for who will play at Euro 2020 and neither team can afford to lose it. The hosts from Denmark are the favorites according to the bookmakers but I cannot write off the Swiss squad and despite the tension.
I expect both squads to look for victory by playing attacking football and to see at least one goal in both doors.
